15 Unique Airbnbs and Vacation Rentals in Kansas

Choose an unusual Kansas stay by matching the setting to the setup: Where will everyone sleep? Is the bathroom inside? Are the grounds private or shared? This unranked list covers grain bins near Manhattan, a treehouse in Easton, a train car near Yoder, a waterfront tiny house in Wichita and a historic stone house in Lindsborg.

The 14 Airbnb pages and one Expedia rental were checked October 10, 2026. Earlier entries without a clear booking page were omitted; that is not proof they closed.

1. Konza Cabin — Manhattan

Konza Cabin turns reclaimed grain bins at Farley Ranch into an unusual stay in Manhattan’s rural Flint Hills setting. The entire home is listed for four guests, with two bedrooms, two beds and one bathroom.

Where will everyone sleep? The two separate bedrooms offer more privacy than a one-room cabin, but all four guests would share the same bathroom. Book Konza Cabin on Airbnb.

2. Limestone Cabin — Ellsworth

Limestone Cabin gives two guests a separate historic farm building six miles north of Ellsworth and one mile from the interstate. Inside are a sitting area, kitchenette, bathroom and queen bed in a loft.

The bed requires climbing stairs, and the kitchenette is better suited to simple food preparation than a full cooking plan. If both fit the trip, see Limestone Cabin on Airbnb.

3. Graham’s Treehouse — Easton

Graham’s Treehouse is an adults-only Easton stay for two, with a queen loft and mini-kitchen. The toilet and sink are indoors, but the shower is outside on a screened deck. Entrance steps and steep, open loft stairs are part of the setup.

The 32-acre retreat grounds and walking trails are shared. Fishing, swimming and diving are not allowed in the ponds, and internet or cell service may be spotty. Explore Graham’s Treehouse on Airbnb.

4. Ginger Bread House — Topeka

Ginger Bread House is a full Topeka home for up to eight guests, with four bedrooms, four beds and two bathrooms. The sleeping arrangement includes two king beds and two queen beds, split between two main-floor bedrooms and two upstairs bedrooms.

Groups get a kitchen, covered porch, fenced backyard and more separation than a loft or studio provides. Garage parking is not included, so read the parking instructions before arriving. Check Ginger Bread House on Airbnb.

5. Queenie’s Loft — Leavenworth

Queenie’s Loft is a downtown Leavenworth stay for two above the host’s candle and gift boutique. The second-floor space has one bedroom, one bed and one bathroom, plus exposed brick and wood floors.

Getting upstairs means using steep stairs or an older, small elevator. If stairs are a concern, ask the host how the elevator will operate during the stay rather than assuming it guarantees accessibility. Guests must be at least 12. View Queenie’s Loft on Airbnb.

6. Cozy Cabin Retreat — Tonganoxie

Cozy Cabin Retreat sits on 15 wooded acres shared with the Sacred Hearts Healing retreat center in Tonganoxie. The grounds have trails and two ponds where catch-and-release fishing is allowed.

The cabin can hold four guests, but the host warns that four adults will feel tight. Ask where everyone will sleep before booking. Dogs live on the property, and from October 1 through December 31, trails may close for several hours while the host hunts. Read the Cozy Cabin Retreat listing.

7. Brightwater Bay Tiny House — Wichita

Brightwater Bay Tiny House combines a Wichita stay with lake access for up to four guests. The tiny house has two beds and one bathroom, and the unit and immediate patio are private.

The lake, beach and game zone are shared with other rentals and venue guests, so the waterfront is not exclusive to this stay. Parties and events are prohibited. Boats and personal watercraft require advance registration with management, and a slip may cost extra. See Brightwater Bay Tiny House on Airbnb.

8. Blue Door Cabin — Chanute

Blue Door Cabin offers a wooded hillside and pond setting outside Chanute, with a covered porch, trails and a catch-and-release fishing dock. It allows up to five guests but lists one bedroom, one bed and one bathroom. Ask exactly where everyone will sleep.

There is no Wi-Fi or screen-based entertainment, and pets are not allowed inside. A trail near the entrance leaves the property, so follow the mapped permitted routes. Open the Blue Door Cabin listing.

9. Santa Fe Boxcar — Hutchinson/Yoder Area

Santa Fe Boxcar is a converted railcar at the edge of a farm south of Yoder, while Airbnb identifies the location as Hutchinson. It accommodates five guests with one bedroom, three beds, one bathroom and loft sleeping areas.

The private yard has a firepit and grill, although other farmhouses are visible. There is no full oven; cooking equipment includes a toaster oven, hotplate and microwave. View the Santa Fe Boxcar booking page.

10. The Batch Tiny House — Perry

The Batch is a 186-square-foot tiny house near Perry. Its queen loft suits one or two guests; groups of up to four must bring pads for the living-room floor.

Is the bathroom inside? No. There is no running water or shower; drinking water is supplied, and the toilet is in an outhouse. AC uses a gas generator guests may need to refuel. The booking guest must be at least 25, while other guests must be 18 or older, apart from the host’s lap-infant exception. Confirm that exception before booking. Review The Batch on Airbnb.

11. Brent & Jean’s Guesthouse — Ness City

Brent & Jean’s Guesthouse is an entire Ness City cottage for up to six guests. It has one bedroom, three beds and one bathroom, plus a kitchen, laundry, yard and patio.

The important access detail is inside: although the entrance is at ground level, two steps lead into the bathroom. A larger group should also look closely at how the three beds are arranged before reserving. See Brent & Jean’s Guesthouse on Airbnb.

12. Old City Jail — Neodesha

Old City Jail turns Neodesha’s restored original city jail into an overnight stay for two. The property sits next to the firehouse and keeps inmate graffiti as part of its historic character.

The sleeping and bathroom setup is straightforward: one bedroom with a king bed and one bathroom. The former-jail setting supplies the unusual part without adding a loft or outdoor bathroom. View Old City Jail on Airbnb.

13. Stenhuset Stone House — Lindsborg

Stenhuset Stone House is a historic 1877 Lindsborg home for up to six guests. It has two king bedroom suites, a concealed Murphy bed, a full kitchen and an outdoor pergola table.

Stairs shape the room choices: one suite is on the lower level, and the other is an upstairs loft suite. Decide who can comfortably use each set of stairs before assigning rooms. Explore Stenhuset Stone House on Airbnb.

14. Modern Boho College Hill Home — Wichita

Modern Boho College Hill Home is a Wichita twin home for up to four guests. It has one bedroom, two beds, one bathroom, a full kitchen and Wi-Fi. The fireplace is decorative, not a working heat source.

This is not a detached rental: the home shares a wall with another unit. Quiet hours run from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., and parties are prohibited. View the College Hill home on Airbnb. For plans beyond the rental, browse these Wichita date-night ideas.

15. Lakefront Cedar Vale Lodge — Cedar Vale

Lakefront Cedar Vale Lodge is a Cedar Vale vacation rental booked through Expedia. It accommodates up to 10 guests in four bedrooms with three bathrooms. The lodge lists a kitchen, washing machine, air conditioning, balcony, firepit and boat dock; pets are not allowed.

If boating is part of the plan, ask the property manager whether the dock can be used during the stay and what the current water conditions are before hauling equipment. See Lakefront Cedar Vale Lodge on Expedia.

Check the Total Price and Stay Details Before You Book

Compare these stays in four passes: exact town, sleeping and bathroom setup, private or shared space, and the total for your dates. Map the town from your own starting point before deciding whether the setting is worth the trip.

Next, enter the actual dates and guest count. Ask where everyone will sleep, whether the bathroom is indoors and whether everyone can manage the stairs. Read the host’s current rules for parking, pets, trails, water access and shared grounds.

Finally, compare the complete checkout total, including any fees and taxes shown, along with minimum-night requirements and the cancellation deadline. A live listing does not prove that your dates are open. Confirm availability and save the applicable terms before paying—the unusual setting should not come with an unexpected bathroom, bed or access problem.
