Safest Property on the Planet is for Sale

The Safest Property on the Planet

Looking for a property that can withstand an earth-shattering event? Well, you're in luck -- the North Star Missile Silo is currently on the market and located in our very own Kansas

An interesting history

The North Star Missile Silo was built in the late 1950s at the height of the Cold War. The Silo was an intercontinental ballistic missile site (ICBM) near Schilling Air Force base in Kansas. These silos were engineered and crafted to withstand any catastrophic event. Kansas was chosen as a site due to its tactical advantages, as it was outside the range of Soviet missiles.

The name of the silo is derived from the actual North Star, which was used to calibrate the navigation system. The site remained operational up until it was decommissioned in 1965. After peace treaty talks between the United States and the Soviet Union, the U.S decommissioned silos that housed the ATLAS series missiles.

The North Star silo is one of the few that remains intact and available for purchase.

Remodeled and ready for a different purpose

The North Star Missile Silo was built for the possibility of an all-out nuclear, now the site sits as a blank canvas ready for its next owner. The site sits on 18 acres of fenced land. For added security, a solar-powered security gate and entrance gate keypad have been installed.

Inside underneath the property is 18 stories dubbed the "underground survival condo." Each floor is 1,250 square feet of freshly painted, open layout spaces that are ready to be decorated. Complete with a gym, pool, meeting space, and living space, this silo is ready for whatever you want it to be.

This property is listed at $750,000 and over $100 million in today's dollars were invested.
